Children’s Counseling Center"Oh, the kids don't know what's going wrong -- we never fight in front of them."
"He only hits me when the kids are in the other room. They don't see what happens."
If you are being abused, and you've said these things to yourself or others, you may want to stop and reconsider that your children don't know what is happening to you.
Living in a home where there is fighting - verbal or physical - can cause many problems for children of all ages. Children whose mothers attend individual counseling or a support groups at WC&S are invited to receive support through our Children's Counseling Center. Staff and qualified volunteers provide individual counseling and age-appropriate support groups for children who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence.
If your children get help now, while you are getting help, they are much less likely to grow up to be domestic abusers or domestic violence victims themselves. |
