taking part in Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield benefiting 37

local nonprofit organizations on Saturday, May 3, 2008, beginning at 9 a.m. at Heinz Field for a 5 K Walk.

100% of the proceeds raised in the name of the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh goes

directly to our organization!

·          There is no registration fee, but every participant is

       encouraged to raise funds for the organization 

·          Raise $5, $20 or $100 - every little bit helps

·          Walk as an individual or organize a team

·           Food, beverages and raffle prizes are available at

       the conclusion of the walk

·          There is a One Mile Fun Walk at 9:15 a.m.

·          Free t-shirt for walkers who collect donations

UPMC Health Plan Spring Clothes Out

Join the Women’s Center & Shelter at our 18th Annual UPMC Health Plan Spring Clothes Out Event as we honor the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Domestic Violence Unit with the Ted Craig Humanitarian Award on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.  Attendees are encouraged to donate gently worn suit(s) or business dress(es) to the event for resident and non-resident women of the Women’s Center & Shelter to aid them as they continue or return to the workforce.  Tickets are $50 per person and can be ordered by calling 412-687-8017 X338 or Click here to make your reservation on-line.

Three Rivers Rotary Wine Tasting

A Wine Tasting held by the Three River's Rotary benefiting the Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, will be held at The Rivers Club on Thursday, June 26, 2008, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Andrew Stockey from WTAE-TV will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.  Tickets are $85 each and can be purchased through the Rivers Club at 412-391-5227.
