Batterer Intervention Program
The MENS Group (Men Embracing Non-Violence & Safety) is an education and intervention group to help men who use abuse to be accountable for their actions through identifying their feelings and understanding their situations.
The MENS Group is for men who use abuse in their relationships, including physical, verbal, psychological, and financial abuse. The group helps them learn how to have healthier relationships and partnerships and is a safe space for the participants to come together and talk about what is going on in their lives. The group sessions are led by experienced, trauma-informed facilitators. Participants learn how to communicate, negotiate personal conflict in their lives, develop self-awareness about their behavior, and experience accountability.
Individuals in the MENS Group are men ages 18+, who may have been court-ordered to attend or required to attend by probation or CYF. They may have also been served with a Protection from Abuse Order or other form of legal notice. Alternatively, a participant may choose to attend to change themselves, learn constructive ways to cope with their emotions, and practice healthy relationship habits.
