STANDING FIRM officially became a program of Women’s Center & Shelter through a strategic merger in December 2017, adding vibrancy to our prevention efforts in the community. STANDING FIRM alerts employers to the financial, safety and human costs of partner violence on the workplace and workforce and equips them with tools for taking effective organizational action.
Did you know that 35% of employees have known a coworker who was an IPV victim or perpetrator and that 45‐66% are concerned about their own safety in the workplace? Right now, a coworker may need your help.
There is a business case to support the idea that employers have a crucial role to play in protecting the workplace from violence related to partner abuse and in improving productivity and worker health by addressing partner violence as a workforce issue.
